Windows Media Server
Windows Media Server streams 3D content with native meta data that seamlessly provides the 3D format and alignment correction data to the client. Stream live or stored content quickly and easily using fast start technology and out-of-the box services provided on Windows Server platforms.
3D Media Capture / Live Events
- Use standard Windows tools to stream 3D to a Windows Media Server (WMS)
- Clients host Windows Media Encoder (WME) sessions. The media server connects to the client to "pull" the stream for storage on the server and/or broadcasting as a live event. WME encoder profiles control the output compression levels and formats.
- Clients push content to the server. WME encoder profiles control the output compression levels and formats.
- Capture 3D content and upload to a Windows Media Server for stored content.
- Third Dimension Technologies' ActiveX control and Media Center provide this functionality out of the box. When using these tools, the 3D meta data is attached to the 3D content and is available for downstream clients.
3D Media CLIENT Playback
- Clients connect to Windows Media Server by URL (mms/rtsp/http). The connection format is the same for live events and stored content.
- Windows Media Server can be configured to require authentication. Custom authentication plugins can be installed on Enterprise Edition.
- With Fast Start streaming enabled, the client will experience very little buffer time. The server will attempt to flood the client with data to fill the buffer.
- Using Third Dimension Technologies' ActiveX control and Media Center, meta data from the 3D content is used to identify 3D format and alignement information. This provides a seamless client experience.
- Client controls provide access to all 3D rendering technology including anaglyph glasses, HMD, 3D Monitors, shutter glasses, cross-eyed, parallel viewing, etc.
